Adding louvres

To make sure the oil cooler + air filter which will soon be situated inside the left rear fender too we decided to add some louvres to the the fender. We used a TIV variant fender to cut out the OEM louvres and shortened it a bit as the fenders are a litlle bit different and ours being a 2 door coupé is a litlle bit more curved around the rear edge. Here is a photo of me welding the new section in. This fender still needs to be finished with bondo though412 engine 010

The oil cooler fan

Sancho found is necessary to create an extra air flow through the OEM oil coller so we placed one over the oil cooler but INSIDE412 engine 005 the engine compartment. Of course this fan sucks the air through the oil cooler

The oil cooler

We found some space inside the left rear fender to put the oilcooler out of the hot surrounding air in the engine compartment. We used some threaded press in bushing for an easy install. The oil lines are routed through the side to the oil filter / pump / thermostath assembly412 engine 004

Making room

I had to "reshape" the rear fire wall a litlle for the air inlet manifold - once the engine in place this extra "space" doesn't seem necessary but it was while fiddling to get the engine "seated"412 engine 014

Turbo close up

Around the turbo we had a little bit more space which is needed because they can get HOT !Maten 003

Dizzy close up

Photo of the space around the dizzy - note that we dropped the gearbox 1cm to gain some vital space ! How this was done is a secret !412 engine 013

Engine in situ

The engine went in rather smooth with little to no persuasion ! A photo of the engine compartment shows a lot of room in front of the engine in contrary to the rear where the turbo and dizzy were rather "close" :)412 engine 012
